Filipe Alves is the Group Chief Nursing Information Officer at the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust, where he leads the digital nursing, midwifery and allied health professionals' strategy across one of the largest healthcare groups in UK. As registered nurse and experienced digital leader, Filipe is passionate about improving quality of care, safety, and clinical outcomes through digital innovation.

His previous roles include Clinical Site Lead, where he was responsible for site operations and bed management across an acute hospital—gaining deep insight into the day-to-day challenges of running complex healthcare services. He later became Associate Director of Operations for Digital Transformation, leading the operational planning and delivery of a major Electronic Patient Record (EPR) implementation.

Now as CNIO, Filipe drives the design, adoption, and optimisation of clinical systems, ensuring digital tools work for frontline staff. He is a member of the RCN Digital Nursing Forum, a Fellow of the British Computer Society, and currently completing his MSc in Digital Health Leadership.
